| Recent Version Information |
Here's what the latest versions add:
Version 3.30 - Dominoes: Added the ability to play without allowing
dominoes to be played cross-wise on the first double, to score only by getting
the points left in your opponents' hands (and not by multiples of five during
the game).
Versions 3.31-3.34 - Miscellaneous changes to support the use of the Lobbies to play online games.
Version 3.35 - Both games: Now allows you to play at least 30 full
network hands without being registered and without interruption. Dominoes:
Changed scoring when playing to score only by getting opponent's points -
now it doesn't round the score to the nearest five. Added an option to play
out the last hand of a game. Fixed some strategy when playing to score only
by opponent's points - the computer was still trying to score by fives. Win42:
Changed play strategy when trumping-in. Changed graphics so that tiles from
all hands are drawn together - more pleasing update of screen.
Version 3.36 - Dominoes: If you play out the last hand after someone
makes the goal, fixed a bug that credit might not be given to the right person/team.
Win42: Fixed a strategy bug where a computer player might not trump-in on
a trick he had to win. Changed some strategy to cause players to try to catch
a trick even though they might not have the highest of that suit.
Version 3.38 - Changed the graphics so that when you drag a domino
with the mouse, you see the domino you're dragging and not just a little
icon. Win42: Fixed a bug where the first time someone runs the game, the
windows are not sized and positioned properly. When selecting a trump, allow
you to click on a domino to say which number is trump. When bidding, added
a "+1" button to go one over the last bid.
Version 3.39 - Cleaned up some of the graphics changes. I discovered
that some changes I had made to the Dominoes game to get around some bugs
Gateway computers' video drivers didn't work in the 42 game, so that's now
fixed.
Version 3.42 - Made various changes to support use of the new Lobbies.
The games now can notify the Lobbies that they're available, and the Lobbies
can tell the game how to connect to another, without a web browser getting
involved.
Version 3.43 - Win42: Cleaned up some cosmetic bugs when using the
Lobby. Dominoes: added several new rule options, including not using the
bone yard, counting unplayed-on ends of the spinner, limiting how many you
draw from the bone yard, and not scoring with 5 points.
Version 3.45 - Allow you to pick the colors of the dots when using
multi-colored ones. Changed the connection to the lobbies to a standard HTTP,
so I don't have to have a separate monitor program running there.
Version 3.46 - Win42: Fixed a bug that a computer player wouldn't
always recognize when a previous player had played the highest trump. Tweaked
some strategy. Dominoes: Fixed that the game defaulted to not using the bone
yard, and defaulted to zero as the maximum number of tiles to draw. Both:
Now reports errors if the game file it's trying to write is not accessible.
Version 3.47 - Win42: Strategy tweaks. Dominoes: Fixed a bug that would hang when connecting more than one players in a network game.
Version 3.48 - Modified the way the graphics are drawn, because some newer computers would not show domino spots correctly.
Version 3.49 - Fixed a bug that would sometimes not let a fourth player join an online game (fixed both games).
Version 3.50 - Made the dominoes slide across as they are being played. More strategy changes in Win42.
Version 3.51 - Made network play better if one player loses his Internet
connection. Dominoes: When dragging a domino, changed the little indicators
showing where it will go to be the outline of a domino, in the right orientation
and location. When the dominoes slide, they now slide to that point. After
a hand, the little dominoes in the score window now show you their spots
as if they had been turned over. If you win, you get a show of bouncing dominoes.
You can turn off the prompt when you need to draw from the bone yard. Unregistered
users now get to use multi-colored-spot dominoes too.
Version 3.52 - Now recovers more gracefully if one guest in an Internet game loses the connection - the game can resume easily.
Version 3.53 - When hosting an online game that's listed in the Lobby, lets you choose among the different rooms at the Lobby.
Version 3.54 - Made some changes to the sounds to avoid problems a few people were having with them hanging up.
Version 3.55 - Internal changes to prepare for moving the Lobbies to www.ccdominoes.com.
Version 3.56 - Win42: Fixed a bug that would appear in a network game if all players passed.
Version 3.57 - All games: fixed a bug that wouldn't let you play a network game if your player name started with a number. WinMoon: Fixed a bug that would sometimes give you fewer than seven dominoes in your hand.
Version 3.58 - Win42: I'm not sure - I think I made some strategy changes. Dominoes: fixed a bug that would cause the first domino to be played face-down, if you play so that the highest double leads.
Version 3.60 - Win42: Implemented a new way for the game to connect to others over the Internet.
Version 3.61 - Win42: Cleaned up some bugs in 3.60. This version is different from 3.6007 in only a very minor way.
Version 3.62 - Win42: Fixed a bug that when a network player from a new IP address would attempt to connect, the connection would be incomplete..
Version 3.63 - Some strategy improvements, different evaluation period (doesn't bug a user, but there is a hard cut-off)
WinMoon 1.12 - Added the choice of minimum bid - 4 or 5. Added ability to double and triple-shoot. Fixed a bug that prevented the restart hand feature from working for online guests.
